Elementary Skit Special Lesson

In October and November we are learning Japanese stories in English and making them into plays. Right now, we are practicing our English speaking skills by learning the vocabulary in our stories. We are also working on telling stories and making longer sentences to say what others are doing.

In fourth grade, we are doing The Old Man with a Lump. In fifth grade, we are doing Momotaro. And in sixth grade, we are doing Urashima Taro.  These stories are great because most students are already familiar with them, so it makes learning them in English a little bit easier and allows the students to perform their own country`s stories in a new language.

By the end of the special lesson, we will remember all of our parts in English, make costumes and props, and turn our stories into live action. We are also hoping to put on a great show for all of our classmates and teachers!
